Resources
Here are a couple of my favorite foodie sources. When I ran Cooking Up Ideas with my now ex-husband, we liked to get our dried herbs and spices from 3 sources. The top two are of exceptional quality, which is why we used them. You’ll find some of the more unusual items in my family’s recipes at those places, like roasted garlic powder and granules, toasted onion, and wine powders.
BulkFoods also has a lot of other things beyond herbs and spices, like dried fruit, beans, and even candy. They have really reasonable shipping, too–$5 for orders over $75 in the lower 48 states!
If you want the Garlic Garni that we use in some recipes, you can get it through the Gilroy Garlic Festival website.
One of my two preferred soup bases is available to order direct from the company online, Redi-Base.
